Why diagnostics matter

Some dental problems hide between teeth or under old fillings where a mirror can’t see. Targeted digital X-rays and photos give us a complete picture, so we can diagnose accurately and treat conservatively.

When we recommend X-rays

When we recommend X-rays
Safety and comfort
Digital sensors use significantly less radiation than traditional film, and we only take X-rays when clinically needed. We use protective coverings and small, quick sensors designed for comfort—even for patients with a strong gag reflex.

What to expect

You’ll bite gently on a small sensor while we position it for a few seconds. Images appear instantly on the screen, so we can review them together. We’ll point out what’s healthy, what needs watching, and any areas that would benefit from treatment, along with straightforward options and estimates.

FAQs

Do I need X-rays at every visit?

No. We personalize the schedule based on age, cavity risk, and history. Many patients need them less frequently.
We typically postpone routine X-rays during pregnancy. If there’s an urgent need, we use extra precautions and only when medically necessary.
You might feel light pressure, but it shouldn’t be painful. Tell us if anything feels uncomfortable and we’ll adjust.
